- Want to expand your social network? - Want to have fun and laugh? - Want to dance traditional danish folk dance? Over the years we have had the pleasure of welcoming people with many different nationalities in Fejltrin and hope you will be the next! Dance instructions are provided in Danish only but followed up with demonstrations making it possible for non-Danish speaking dancers to participate. Try joining us for some danish folk dancing Wednesdays at 19.30 - 22.00 o'clock from September till the end of May. Come - alone or with a partner (more than 50% come alone) - as beginner or experienced dancer. All ages are represented! Price for an entire season: DKK 900 (ask for discount if you cannot join us for an entire season) - the first few times are free of charge. We dance in ordinary clothing. No special equipment required apart from shoes with smooth soles.
The Club “Misstep” is the name of a large group of very active folk dancers in all ages, who get together every Wednesday from 19.30 to 22.00 o’clock in the gymnasium at Øster Farigmagsgades School in Østerbro (Øster Farimagsgade 40, 2100 Kbh. Ø) to dance primarily Danish and Scandinavian folkdances. We never dance in national costumes but wear normal clothes and consider ourselves to be an easygoing club, valuing fun and the joy of dancing higher than executing the steps 100% correctly. The actual dance lessons are organized in a manner, which ensures that everyone gets out on the dance floor - every 4th - 5th dance is simply a dance with a partnerchange. This will allow you as a new member to frequently have the pleasure of dancing with an experienced member and meet everyone. The club has two dance instructors and a folk musician who provides live music for us to dance to. Usually we have a step- and dancing seminar at the beginning of each season.
10th Inning Every Wednesday there is ‘10th Inning’ for those who are up for it at "Søernes Ølbar", Sortedam Dossering 83, cellar. Here it is possible to put out ones thirst and talk a bit more with other members than what the short break during dance lessons allows.
Coffee nights Last Wednesday in every month we organize coffee night. We dance until 21 o’clock after which we borrow a different room where we drink some coffee/tea, chat and sing a bit. We take turns baking cakes for these occasions.
Trio nights First Wednesday in uneven months we host the so-called Trio nights which are free of charge and open to all dancers, regardless of whether they are Misstep-members or not! Usually three musicians are playing for us these evenings. The pace will be turned up a notch and there will be less instruction. We start out the evening by eating together at 18 o’clock.
Cabin trips We organize two cabin trips every season – one during spring and the other during fall. They are meant as occasions for members to get to know each other better, and usually many activities take place such as music, dancing, singing, other types of games, hiking trips, good cooking ect. The 2014 spring trip will have its base in Munich (cabins 2 - 2½ hrs from Munich) where our German friendship club, Haxnschmeisser, invited us to. This will be from the 6th - 9th of July.
Payment Active members: DKK 900; Passive members: DKK 200; Students, Pensioners and Unemployed: DKK 650; Giro 4 35 50 40 (card type 01) The subscription is including membership of Danske Folkedansere (DF), who publish the magazine Trin og Toner, DF region Greater Copenhagen, and Danske Gymnastik- og Idrætsforeninger (DGI).
